Mariann Fjeld-Solberg

Soprano

After graduating from the University College of Opera in Stockholm, Mariann Fjeld-Solberg sang her first role at Stockholm’s Royal Opera, only 23 years of age. In 2004 she was awarded the Jenny Lind Scholarship, which led to a recital tour of the USA. She then went on to win both the National Queen Sonja Music Competition and the Malmö Vocal Competition in 2007. In 2008 she received a two years recital engagement award from Concerts Norway.

Mariann Fjeld-Solberg has worked with opera houses/companies such as The Norwegian National Opera, Stockholm Royal Opera, Folkoperan in Stockholm and Malmö Opera. Signature roles include Puccini’s Mimì (La Bohème), Juliette (Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette) and Mozart’s Susanna, performed with Peter Mattei at The Mattei Festival in Luleå and at NorrlandsOperan in Umeå and on tour.

Mariann is a busy concert artist and has performed with Düsseldorfer Symfoniker, St Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and the The Norwegian National Opera’s Orchestra, working with distinguished conductors such as Louis Langrée, Fabio Biondi, Rinaldo Alessandrini, John Helmer Fiore and Jun Märkl, among others.

Season 15/16 Mariann was seen as ”Mrs Mozart” on a Norwegian tour in a semi staged concert production, produced by Bergen National Opera and first performed at Åmot Operagaard this summer. Season 16/17 was a ”reunion” with Mimi in La Boheme at Kristiansund Opera and later in Sandefjord with the same production.

In 17/18 Mariann sang the title role in Madama Butterfly on tour with Malmö Opera, 33 performances!
