First conductor ever to Stellis Polaris: Gunvald Ottesen – welcome!

Stellis’ is thrilled to welcome our first ever conductor to the team: Gunvald Ottesen! He comes highly recommended and despite young age, he’s got lot under his belt already. Gunvald finished his Master studies at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) this spring after Bachelor studies at The Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH).

Richard Klingspor, CEO, Stellis Polaris Management:

– I have seen Gunvald perform in opera and concert settings since the beginning of his studies in Oslo, and it was always something about his way to create music that caught my attention. He shows a special interest in musical drama which is a perfect match with the rest of my agency, and he is a genuinely nice guy, giving me more than enough reasons to take him on. First conductor on the Stellis Polaris roster and I can’t wait to see where the journey will take him. I envision a brilliant career ahead.”

Gunvald is part of the Norwegian training programme for young conductors called”Dirigentforum”, hosted by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB and Talent Norway. It’s a experience program for those who already can demonstrate a high level of conducting and artistic potential.

Gunvald is going to make his debut at the Gothenburg Opera in Sweden conducting “Cabaret” 20/21, and summer 2021 he is musical director of the Norwegian premiere of “Kristina från Duvemåla” the Swedish smash hit musical by Björn Ulveus and Benny Andersson, all this at Bømlo Theatre.

Swedish professor B. Tommy Andersson praises his former student at KMH: “He has now ended his studies and passed all exams with the best results possible. “—” “During his studies Gunvald worked with numerous professional orchestras and ensembles in Sweden “—“. Gunvald’s background as a skilful violinist gives him a natural and obvious authority on the podium in all these contexts.”

Welcome to Stellis Polaris Management, Gunvald!
