Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 is one of his most famous works, serving, for example, as the credits to the famous film Amadeus by Milos Forman. This program is structured around his theatrical inspiration, and in particular that of the Liège composer Grétry, fifteen years older than Mozart, taking as a starting point three works from the crucial year of 1773 (Céphale and Procris by Grétry, by incidental music from Mozart’s Thamos and Symphony No. 25). To accompany these pieces, two arias by Grétry as well as the famous Queen of the night, second aria. Orkester Nord is one of the leading orchestras in Scandinavia, specializing in performance on historical instruments.
Candidate for the European Capital of Culture label, Rouen Seine Normande 2028 is associated with this concert organized by the Musicales de Normandie as part of its partnership with the city of Trondheim (Norway).
