Adrian Angelico (A. A. Voje) studied with Neil Mackie and Poul Erik Hansen in Norway, Henning Vilén at Bel Canto Scandinavia in Denmark, Francisco Araiza at the International Opera Studio in Zürich, Kathleen Livingstone at the Royal College of Music.
The Bregenz Festival debut was in July 2010, appearing in two new productions of Mieczysław Weinberg’s operas Die Passagierin and Das Portrait. Other important debuts include the British operatic stage debut in English Touring Opera’s production of Flavio and as Carmen at Opera Trondheim. Voje’s other repertory includes Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), the Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), the title role in Handel’s Teseo and Le Prince Charmant i Massenet’s Cendrillon . A. A. has performed Waltraute and Wellgunde (Der Ring des Nibelungen) for children at Zürich Opera.
Voje’s Royal Opera Covent Garden debut came in 2014, singing the Marquise de Merteuil in John Fulljames’s new production of Quartett by Luca Francesconi. A. A. will sing in the same production in France (Rouen), Italy (Trento) and USA in 2017.
Voje returned to Royal Opera House Covent Garden as Flora in Richard Eyres’ production of La Traviata in May/ June 2015.
In 2014 Voje sang the title role in NORA–too late, a new opera by Du Wei and Jon Fosse with world premiere in Tianjin, China. The production was touring in Norway the year after.
Voje’s concert appearances includes Peer Gynt with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony no.9 with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra twice, Trondheim Symphonic Orchestra’s New Year’s concert, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle, the St John Passion, Messiah and a concert performance of L’enfant et les sortileges at the Norwegian National Opera. Voje’s awards include two special prizes at the 2009 Queen Sonja International Music Competition.
A. A. Voje returned to The Norwegian National Opera to sing Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) in June 2016.
Upcoming projects includes a debut as Der Komponist in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos at Arctic Opera Norway/ NOSO in 2017 and Quartett on tour in France, Italy and USA.
